Still can't think of a reasonable explanation why it took seven months to see one, but at least it's crossed off now.

Very successful trip to Leighton Moss leaves me one short with an almost 100% guarantee of hitting my target, plus a new lifer!

95 - Marsh Tit
96 - Common Snipe
97 - Water Rail

A spontaneous afternoon divert to Wanstead Flats got me my 100th bird of the year - and not something I expected.

100 - Mediterranean Gull

Bad birthday caused me to go for a calming visit to Rainham Marshes, and get three new birds!

A trip out with the LNHS got me two common species I hadn't been sure enough of to cross off before.

07/11 - Ruislip Lido
105 - Eurasian Sparrowhawk
106 - Redwing

Morning visit got my final woodpecker and the other winter thrush, neither of which I can remember seeing before - so two lifers.

Not a bad start to the week despite some poor weather.

23/11 - Fairlop Waters
109 - Great Northern Diver

24/11 - Rainham Marshes
110 - Northern Pintail
111 - Eurasian Rock Pipit

A trip to Rainham Marshes with the LNHS helped me get a couple of birds I'd been missing there.

05/12 - Rainham Marshes
112 - Water Pipit
113 - Western Barn Owl
114 - Peregrine Falcon

Getting in close to the wire with what is probably my last new species of the year - but a lifer and quite a notable one at that!

28/12 - Brent Reservoir
115 - Yellow-browed Warbler

Turns out it wasn't my last species after all - spontaneous trip out today got me one in at the last minute.

31/12 - Beddington Farmlands
116 - Lesser Redpoll

Also, I retroactively am adding in Rock Dove/Feral Pigeon, I see no point in leaving it off so it becomes 117 altogether for the year.
