A series of pictures of the first-summer Brown Booby found on the Lizard by Dave Collins on 2nd September. Remarkably, the bird appears to be the third of the summer for Britain being the first, second and third records in a matter of three weeks. There has also been a significant influx into Europe and on the other side of the Atlantic a record as far north as Newfoundland.
The light was a pain. The first photos below are silhouettes really from the cliff top looking into the sun; the second and third posts are a series showing a full dive; the fourth and fifth are also from the cliff top; and the final three posts are a series of shots from Kynance Cove as the bird checked out the bay amongst the holiday makers.
All the best
