I agree Steve (and thanks for drawing our attention to it). I think people should take more flock or 'impression' shots of birds, as well as the usual 'portraits'. On a trip to Bass Rock a year or two ago, I though a lot of the best pictures I took were with my compact camera. These really gave an impression of the scale of the place and the sheer impact of the huge number of birds, which I think is often the lasting impression one gets of a huge seabird colony.
