I can't work out what species this is!
Taken on Slapton Ley, South Devon last week

Gadwall, male. Probably a female in front of it.

It's raising its head feathers, which might make its profile different from what you were expecting (especially from pictures in field guides).

It's the funny white tail on the female that has me confused :-O
