Grey Plover and Sanderling? Seaforth, Liverpool UK (yesterday) (1 Viewer)

Hi all

Still trying to learn my waders so going by beak size, bird size, wing and tail markings etc...

The first photo shows 2 birds together, which I think are a Grey Plover and a Sanderling? What was 'sweet' is that the birds kept together in what seemed a mutual friendship. They even flew off together! Is this normal behaviour?

The second photo is of a solitary Grey Plover?

thanks
