iPhone Adapters For Opticron Binos and Scopes (1 Viewer)

pete_gamby

Birds? What Birds?!
After much to and fro with our supplier, we have finally taken delivery of a small quantity of the first generation of smartphone adapters for Opticron binos and scopes.

There are two versions available:

iPhone 4/4S, part number 50900, RRP £29.95
iPhone 5, part number 50901, RRP £29.95

These have a 28mm female screw thread in front of the camera lens which will accept the following push fit adapters (not included in the price above):

50065 DCC adapter (for various HDF, IS and HR eyepieces)
40943 UTA adapter ring for HDF-T fixed mag eyepieces
40948 UTA adapter ring for HDF-T zoom eyepiece
40949 UTA adapter ring for SDL zoom eyepiece

All the UTA rings require a 28 to 34mm step ring (£10).

Full details on pricing and compatibility for the UTA rings is here:

http://www.opticron.co.uk/Pages/uta.htm

As you'll see from the chart on that page, the rings also fit various binoculars.

So, depending on your set up the total price will be from £49.95 upwards if you don't already have a push fit adapter or UTA ring.

Cheers, Pete

I am thinking of buying the kit for iPhone 4S for digiscoping with the Opticron ES80 GA ED, but I don't know which quality the kit will produce and how fast it is to setup the iPhone to the scope. Do you have some images of the kit in use?
