TSN 664m roatating body (1 Viewer)

I just got my new TSN 664M, straight through view scope. It has a ring and lock screw like for one of the angled eyepiece scopes. Is the body on this scope supposed to rotate? The body on this one is extremely tight and I don't think I shall be trying to rotate it.

Do you mean it's still too tight to rotate when you loosen the rotation screw? Or the screw is too tight to turn?
I can't think why you'd want to rotate a straight-through scope anyway - unless you want to look at something sideways.....

The front part of this scope series is the same build construction for both the straight and angled version. It's generally only the angled version that the user may wish to rotate for " offset straight through viewing".

I was wondering because the ring and tightening screw appears the same as on the angle eyepiece model. I just got a reply from Kowa, and the straight and angled model use the same ring, but on the straight model it is secured permanently with a strong adhesive.

Actually I have a spotting scope stand with a head where the scope is more stable if it is hanging from the head as compared to sitting above it. If the ring rotated like on the angled eyepiece model that would help.

Exactly..If you want to use a ball head sideways, the rotating collar is a must..I just think is stupid to lock the ring with glue having the locking screw there..pure nonsense
