Greeting, Fernando.

Not one of mine, Fernando. But you can submit the ring through the CRBPO website at:

N.b. "Courriel" means email but the link on the site fails. The addy for sending is:
<[email protected]>
Prepare to wait a long time. I have a Swiss 'Blue Tit' outstanding for 14 months now, after emailing Sempach the same day I caught it.

Dr. John,Greetings. thank you very much for your courtesy, send through official channels all information in this recovery. Perhaps the French Office take some time but it is certain that the Spanish take several years to inform ...
Thank you very much again, a big hug John.
Fernando Gavilan.

Now it's 18 months - why does it take so long, I wonder? Perhaps waiting to see if there are further controls of this bird :eek!:

Hi John, hope all is well.

We have had a number of brambling controlled in Norway. As I understand the Norwegian scheme is entirely run by volunteers. They ran up a big backlog of data, and we didn't know they had been catching "our" birds until they put in a big effort and we started getting reports back via the BTO. The Norwegians worked through the backlog backwards - most recent first, so some of the controls had happened five years or more before we heard about them.

This is not a criticism at all - I am amazed they have the time to do all that work between a relatively small number of ringers. Not all schemes are well enough resourced to deal with individual returns promptly.

Take care, Mike.

Five years! I'm not sure if I can stay alive that long :eek!:

Anyway, Mike, just now all is well - though my STOC catches are still well down compared to those from the noughties :C Hope things are good at your end, too.

John
