Chickadee exclusive feeder? (1 Viewer)

So we recently moved to a new home in Saskatchewan, Canada. My daughter loves watching birds so I purchased a bird feeder for us to enjoy... Unfortunately, it has been over-run with house sparrows 😔

There seems to be only 3 chickadees in the entire area, and they get entirely out competed by the 40+ sparrows unless I go out and hand feed them.

I tried creating a "magic Halo", and it worked for awhile, but it seems to have lost its effectiveness. At this point I've just stopped putting food out since I have no interest in feeding swarms of sparrows.

We were putting out a block of suet for the woodpeckers, and blackoil sunflower seeds in the feeder. Suggestions for anti-sparrow feeders?

I know it's a bit pricey but sunflower hearts are loved by all birds but for some reason the House Sparrows didn't care for them and left the feeder alone after a day or two so you might want to try a feeder with the sunflower hearts and see if you have any luck.
