Confirmation please for last night...on Image 1. Dark marbled Carpet?

And I have poured over Lewingtons for image 2. and can't even get close!....presumed a much worn specimen? Soon as I saw it, I knew that it was not a moth that I'd ever seen before! A very thick-set individual c1'' long?
