The moors pool has 3 hides all have good vantage points and kingfisher have been seen in all 3. However there are more exciting birds to be seen also. The 2 hides on the western side of the pool have bird feeders that are frequented by tits, dunnock, various finches including Bullfinch and reed buntings. Plenty of robins and wrens about too. Hope this helps and good luck.

Some good sightings there John; the best autumn for many a year for Pintail. I wonder if the various sightings of Yellow-legged Gull over the last few weeks relate to the same individual?

PS What did a week on Scilly yield?

One of the quieter years with Blyths, Richards, Barred, RBFlys, Yellow-broweds, Firecrests, Ring Ouzels, Snow Buns, Short-toed Lark, Great Skuas, Balearic & Sooty Shearwaters. Cyprus Carpet was a lifer. Cracking weather.

Is the shot Old Town Bay with Nowhere in the background? Was the quarry the Blyth's Pipit?

Struggling with the other photo - is it Periglis?

Had two Kingfishers on the Moors, Water Rail in the channel, plus Pintail and Wigeon. Little Egret was very active as well. Not much about on the Flashes though, one Green Sand and a few Mipits.

Massive thanks to Andy aka Spoonbill finder for driving and Bob and phil for a great day. 2 more lifers today

Nice one Vern. I see the twitching bug has bitten hard . I can only counter with Little Kingfisher and I mean little, and Lovely Fairy Wren.

Des. Sent from Queensland.

Correct, Old Town Bay Blyth's Pipit (I saw it in the open, my third for Scilly: most had to settle for flight views of bird calling). Porthcoose, the bay between Periglis and Killier, behind the Great Pool on St Agnes.

Four more memories for you, the view from the Turks Head (copyright Rhodsy, those ever so approachable Song Thrushes,(2cnd) pelagic, Peninnis over Hugh Town. Over and out. JS
