a spot of birding (1 Viewer)

Ant

North Wales birder
Went down the patch this morning at about 6:15.

I saw the usual suspects and most worthy of note was a single black cap, my first of the year, with a great spotted woodpecker nearby, pecking holes into a tree, maybe for grubs, maybe to start creating a larder, whatever it was doing, it was my first for the patch.

Not much later, just after encountering the 1st dog walker, I came across a number of whitethroats, my first for the year.

Good grief Ant! You are an early bird! 6.15? I cant drag myself out of bed that early never mind be actually up and out at my local patch. Congratulations of getting your whitethroat:clap: I've never seen one either.

Best wishes
