Opus: How to properly link to gallery searches? (1 Viewer)

How do we properly link to gallery searches from within Opus (maybe we are updating an entry and want to link to the gallery images pertinent to the entry)?

When I search for "White-headed Woodpecker" from the gallery, I get a URL that looks like:
http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/search.php?searchid=765

But when I search for "white headed woodpecker", I get:
http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/search.php?searchid=766

This leads me to believe that the search terms are either being hashed and stored so that future identical queries will be faster or are temporarily linked to stored queries with a session variable scope.

Isn't there a "gateway" URL we can use to link to within Opus for searches that will take URL variables such as:
hxxp://www.birdforum.net/gallery/search.php?action=remote&searchphrase=WHATEVER LIST OF SEARCH TERMS RELEVANT TO THE ARTICLE GOES HERE

I have already experienced broken search links that result in returning all images from the gallery.

Hi Terry,

That's exactly what we're working on at the moment - it is hoped that we will be able to add a 'template' to the software so that you could do {{gallerysearch|terms to search for}}, but we need to look into this properly first.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that you guys are on top of this. Keep up the great work!

I dont know if this is the same problem, but I just did an opus search for australian raven. One of the automatically generated links was a link saying "View more images of Australian Raven in the gallery", however, when clicking this link, there was absolutely no discrimination of which pictures were shown, it included for example an image titled "Carolina Wren Singing".

Thanks
Niels
