Trip to Salamanca Spain (1 Viewer)

I will be in Salamanca, Spain for two weeks in early June. any tips on where I am likely to see bee-eaters and great bustards around the Salamanca/Leon areas?

The Lagunas de Villafáfila are known as a good spot for Great Bustard and other species. It's quite a bit north of Salamanca though and you'll probably need a car. Most good birding areas in the region require that. I've also seen Great Bustards from the train to Madrid, near Peñaranda de Bracamonte, so they seem to (sporadically?) occur on local farmland.
If you have a car, you could also try Monfragüe and maybe the Arribes del Duero (unless you've already been to those places of course) for general birding.
If you're restricted to public transport, it gets more difficult. Also depends on how far you're willing to travel to a given location.
By the way, there should be Lesser Kestrels around in the inner city, and the banks of the Rio Tormes may provide some interesting species as well.
