"lightest body design in its class" ?

I presume the class is "EDG bins" as it's 23oz (that is 3oz less than the EDG 1, IIRC) which is heavier than the Zeiss, Leica and Swaro 32mm bins (the assumed class in my mind).

Marketing ... dontcha love it.

It is true the 32mm EDG is the lightest EDG model ever produced. Of course, it is much heavier than 32mm EL binoculars, even slightly heavier than 7x36 ZEN ED2 binoculars
 
They are also 1 1/2 ounces lighter than the old Nikon LX L. Most people don't care about a few ounces. If they get a chance to compare them they get the one they like best. Other factors are just as important, like ER and ease of focusing and intangibles like comfort.
