female common merganser would be my guess

I'm pretty familiar with Common Mergansers in my area.(more so through binoculars, not pictures). If this is one then I posted the wong bird.The one I was seeing had a bill that was chubby-not thin like a Merganser.-It also had some kind of marking on it.-
