Decent range of birds there. What's the situation regarding public access to Hereford Quarry - can you just drive in or is the main entrance purely for quarry vehicles?

you park just off the main road infront of a gate with a sign behind saying 'welcome to hereford quarry', only thing is make sure that you park on your left as you approach the gate from the road not the right.

Hi Espen,
Where is hereford quarry?I am local also.
I'am going to titley pool for a session tomorrow.FIrst time there hope to get some pictures
 
Hereford Quarry is the gravel pits just out of Hereford on the north side of the Worcester Road. Turn off onto the Bromyard Road (A465), and the entrance is on the left. You can see it quite clearly on Google Maps.

19th feb, leap year day! warm and sunny

can't be long before the first sand martin/wheatear or swallow is seen in the county, earliest ones have already turned up on the south coast! keep 'em peeled!
 
went ringing dippers on the borders today, caught a female but found loads of nests & saw lots of grey wagtails & a kingfisher

went ringing on the borders again today, caught a 1ymale and an ad fem, both ringed already, again lots of gw, 2 sparrowhawk, 2 grey heron and *a possible purple heron, i will post again in a bit if the id is resolved, i have posted some pics in the id forum.

went ringing today around kington, most dipper clutches had hatched so rung 26 today

also dit a TTV near there with the other ringers, highlights- 3 red kite, 1 sprawk, 80 linnet, 3 dipper, 2 grey wagtail, 4 siskin, 2 goldcrest

edit, also first swallow of the year & 5 sand martins(second of year)

1 pec sand at brockhall gps reported this evening + showing well, i'll go for it tomorrow, bit weird at this time of year!
 
:(, no sign this evening and I looked for 3 hours, but 2 yellow wagtail, 4 white wagtail, 1 kestrel, 2 buzzard, 1 common sandpiper, 25 canada goose, 2 greylag goose, 6 little ringed plover, 2 skylark, 5 oystercatcher
