Red Dot Sight Camera mounting adapter (1 Viewer)

Hot shoe mounts for Red dot sights

Robert

1. That's the famous Xtend-a-Sight hot shoe mount:

http://www.photosolve.com/main/product/xtendasight/index.html

Phil Williams was forced to cease production because of rising costs. But he has successfully redesigned the mount, principally by removing a stacked 10mm mount, and instead offering only a 20mm mount, and has now reintroduced it again on sale.

2. Sherman Levine has a current post on DPR re: hot shoe mounts:

3. As well as the URL of the Xtend-a-Sight mount, Sherman also gives the URL of the Mini-in-the-Box mount:

http://www.miniinthebox.com/hot-sho...find-the-subject-for-slr-camera_p2361296.html

4. Sherman doesn't further mention the Light-in-the-Box offer of the same mount, probably because it looks from the website to be out of stock.

Anyway I've posted the URL of the Light-in-the-Box mount in reply to Sherman's post:

http://www.lightinthebox.com/hot-sh...find-the-subject-for-slr-camera_p2361296.html

As Sherman says, hotshoe mounts for red dot sights come and go!

Also the Light-in-the-Box offer is cheaper than the Mini-in-the-Box offer.

Just got back from an Olympus Camera demo and had a hands on with there red dot sight and I was impressed. Yes its $129.00 but its universal to any standard hot shoe mount, Its very easy to adjust the aim, the brightness is adjustable and it collapses when not in use
. No fiddling, filing or other mess. just pet it on aand go. The Oly rep wasn't real happy but one of the salesmen and I put it on a Nikon D7100 with a Tameron 150X600 lens and It was very nice. Track the bird with the dot, fire off a burst and Bobs your mothers brother. We were averaging four out of six shots as keepers. Granted they were Canada geese but its a cold very overcast day here and both the sight and the Tameron performed very well.
