If Orinoco Goose and Andean Goose are considered congeners, the generic name Oressochen Bannister, 1870 (type = melanopterus) has priority for the new arrangement.

Oops, my mistake when changing upper to mixed case. Should have used Word to convert! (Just out of surgery, and I think I was still semi-anaesthetised.) Corrected, with apologies to Eliason et al...I rather like the idea of 'nanastructure' - it offers many possibilities, perhaps, given the emphasis on Anatidae on this thread - surely 'nenestructure' would refer to the genetic bottleneck in the Hawaiian Goose population?:-O
