Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS Lens (1 Viewer)

Has anybody tried this new lens yet.

I want to replace my Sigma 70-300mm with an alternative IS and this seems like a good deal even with losing the 50mm at the top end.
 
My son has replaced his Sigma 70-300 with the Canon 55-250.
Optically the Canon is streets ahead of the Sigma.

I second what Geoff has said. The build quality is where the money has been saved.
