Here are a few interesting species I've seen on some of my bird outings this year.

Enjoy!

Well I am sure I have one right...
1. Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
2. Lewis's Woodpecker
3. Marbled Godwit
4. Northern Hawk Owl
5. Hooded Merganser

Okay Xeno, you have two out of five, #2 is a Lewis's Woodpecker and #5 is a Hooded Merganser. Nicely done.

Now for the three that have yet to be IDed.

Another one down! Number one is indeed a Townsend's Solitaire. Well done Andrew.

But sorry Wiktoria, no owls here, think more in a passerine direction for #4.

Ok, having come in more than halfway through:

3 long-billed dowitcher
4 Loggerhead shrike

That strange noise you hear is the sound of straws being clutched!!

Cheers,
Andrew

Keep guessing on the passerine guyes, Andrew W. is closer with the color of the bird, "blue". As for the shorebird, you're almost there AStevenson. :)

You stabbed correctly Jurij, it's a Western Bluebird. Nicely done.

Alright, good job everyone. Now it's time for round two!
