Hello, has anyone some useful info for birding nearby to Alice Springs and Townsville, I shall be spending about 4 days in each, I usually use public transport or by foot, I am sure there are places nearby both.

thanks

Townsville Common is good. You can get there by taxi (bit far to walk) or probably by bus. But the taxi ride won't cost you very much. You could easily spend a couple of days there - it's pretty big.
