California hawk (1 Viewer)

Clearly an immature Accipiter, legs look moderately robust, streaking to the lower breast is thin and the tail looks as though there is more growth yet to come...I’m thinking Cooper’s Hawk?

Cheers

Andrew and Andy, do you say Buteo because the streaking is thicker than it would be for a Cooper's?

It just looks Buteo rather than Accipiter to me, I was surprised when Ken said Accipiter.

Accipiter would appear longer legged and longer tailed.
