Is it a Twite

Originally put this in "Say Hello" but think it should be here.

Just joined, looking to identify a bird in our garden, new over the last week or two. Nesting in our roof. The birds not us! We have looked it up on WWW and its a countryside bird, not town. We over look the river Mersey and Irish Sea.

Hi PeterW,

It is not too easy to see from your photos, but the birds in the second photo at least appear to be House Sparrows. They are much more likely to be nesting in your roof than Twite which are bird of moorland and mountains.

Cheers,

Stuart

The photos are not good enough for me to make-out any birds with yellow bills.
