I think the first one might be a sage thrasher but I'm not sure. The second one - no idea... a female something.
They were both taken in Central WA - at the ryegrass rest area

I agree with Jan. Sage Thrasher and female Brown-headed Cowbird.

The cowbirds I see around here are uniformly colored with a lighter head. Although the ones we have here are grayer than your photo shows. This may have something to do with the lighting when the photo was taken and your bird is actually not quite as brown as it appears in the photo.
