Hawk harassment.....HELP!!!! (1 Viewer)

Over the years we have developed a great community of Purple Martins. Now about 20 pair next in our 6 houses.
Unfortunately, this bugger has been harassing the community. As you can see, I have covered all the houses in wire after the first attack I saw.
He/she has become very bold and I can get within 20' when I shoot a water pistol to get it moving.
Our mockingbirds swoop in from the back and peck at it, but it is unfazed.
This afternoon I found it sitting on our deck railing outside our door.

It is a beautiful bird, but how do I convince it to go find mice and snakes in the field?!?!?!?!?!

Hi and welcome to the forum on behalf of the staff and moderators. Unfortunately you have probably done about all you can with the wire you have put up. He is just doing what comes naturally to him.

Yeah, nature can be raw at times but it is nature nonetheless.

Hi feetsau and a warm welcome to you :t: Please keep us posted on this.
