Put this in the Nikon section too but have realised it would be better here.

I need help with my Coolpix 4500.

I know there's a way to stop the camera from turning itself off when the camera's inactive but i've lost my manual and I can't remember how it's done.

I've also searched through the menus for something that could be it and drawn a blank.

Can someone tell me please?

Thanks, Jaff

I've got my answer now no need to post reply

Hi Jaff, Go to SET-UP MENU and scroll down to Auto Off
Manual reads:Conserving Battery Power When operated on battery power, the camera will turn off automaticlly if no operations are performed for a specified period of time. The time limit for auto power off can be chosen from thirty seconds, one minute(the default setting),five minutes, and thirty minutes using Auto Offmenu. When the camera turns off,the power lamp will go out.Use the power switch to turn the camera on again.

So it would seem you can only have the power running for a max of thirty minutes before you have to power up again.
Hope this is of some use to you.
DJA
