Hello,

Could anyone point me to a map of Greenham common that has the 'fire plane on it please?

Or explain simply to someone with no sense of direction, and no idea where east or west is.

Left or right with back to the control tower might work.

Google maps will find you the fire plane (I was astounded too.)

Basically you drive into the Greenham business park and make your way to the Western end (nearest Newbury) and park in the car park there. You then follow the cycleway in the same westerly direction and the bird is in bushes sort of on your left, not too far ffrom the fire plane (which has a fence round it).
