No, they didn't mention koenigi

I am reading Avian Survivors by Clive Finlayson and he argues that in the Western Palearctic there are four species of “great grey” Shrike. The Great Grey Lanius excubitor, the Iberian Grey L. meridionalis, the Algerian Grey L. algeriensis and the Canary Grey L. koenigi.

Finlayson states that the three “south-western” species are closer to the Loggerhead Shrike than to the Great Grey, he also says the central Asian taxa need reconsidered too.

However, a lot of the taxonomy in this book seems a wee bit off, e.g. two Species of Spotted Eagle in the genus Lophaetus.
