Saw this pipit at Sattal (in Uttarakhand - Himalayan valley, India) in the first week of April 2012. Saw a flock foraging on the ground.. Both the images are of the same bird...

just a little curiosity... Shouldn't olive-backed be a little bit more greenish in colour and have streaks instead of spots on the back... ?

As with many birds there is a bit of variation in plumage brightness. Some can be very olive green in tone & some a little drabber. Great birds especially the bright well marked ones.
