Took a walk with the audubon club this morning. Saw many birds but the most interesting finds were The Prothonotary Warbler which had a nesthole in a tree in a swamp. Apparently although this birds is listed as fairly common in Peterson's it is not common in CT. We also got a nice view of nesting Cedar Waxwings up in a pine tree. One advantage of going on an audubon walk is that I can take a look through a scope without having to carry one. Without the scope I wouldn't have got a detailed look at the warbler.

To update- on this week's Audubon trip highlights were a Virginia Rail , Bobolink and a great view of a Least Bittern popping up out of the marsh.
