I bird between the San Francisco bay area (where I grew up) and San Diego where I live now. It varies from winter to Summer. Here is my list since January 2006 in San Diego roughly in taxonomic order:

Yellow-Crowned Night-Heron (summer '96 and'97)
Greater Scaup (varius winters, a rare bird in SD)
Rough-Legged Hawk (winter '95)
Northern Goshawk (winter '97)
Glaucous Gull (winter '91)
Lesser Black-Backed Gull (winter '91)
Yellow-Footed Gull (summer '95)
White-Winged Dove (summer '92)
Broad-Tailed Hummingbird (summer '96)
Great-Tailed Grackle ( '01 and '02, despite what the field guides say, they do not live here normally)
White-Throated Sparrow (rare varius winters)
Lincoln's Sparrow ( one winter but forgot which one)

I'll make a northern cal list too sometime later.
