Maya Birds in my town (1 Viewer)

So I live in a forest-like part of the city here in my country where there are lots of Maya birds (they are brown and have some black markings on them. They are small and can fit in the palm of your hand but they are very fast, nimble, and nervous). However, since there was a typhoon recently here, I have only seen a few Maya birds compared to the flocks (in the hundreds to thousands mark) that I have seen before. Is it possible that these birds have temporarily migrated elsewhere to escape the typhoon? I have never heard of Maya birds as migratory.
