Am visiting Falklands - Port Stanley - later this month but for one day only as part of a cruise.
Can anyone help with info on birding within walking distance of Stanley.
The Opus entry here is ok but incomplete - hopefully I can add to it on my return.
Also what is the taxi/public transport option like? I understand car hire is an option.
Would like maybe to get to Gypsy Cove. The trips organised by the ship to penguin colonies are fully booked and anyway we prefer independent trips if possible.
What is the nearest site to Stanley where penguins are found regularly?

Thanks in advance, Eric
