Birding stills with the PL100-400 (2 Viewers)

I now carry the PL100-400/G7, on a blackrapid strap, whenever I'm birding. No problem carrying this lightweight combo as well as my scope & tripod. Not only a very useful tool for documenting colour-ring details on gulls, but also more than capable of capturing their beauty.
I'll be attempting more BIFs more often when I get my hands on a EM1 mkii, but here are a couple with the G7.

Pana Leica 100-400 on Oly EM1ii

Having been waiting for the GH5 for years, I got seduced by the Oly EM1ii - specifically its CAF performance - and sold all my remaining Nikon DSLR gear to fund its purchase. So far I'm not regretting it. The PL 100-400 is brilliant on the EM1ii. IQ of this pairing seems consistently better than with my GH3 or G7. The EM1ii is blazing fast in all respects and CAF performance is in a different league and meets all my birding photo requirements (not CAFtracking, which still isn't great for birds, but not needed anyway).
A good photographer using this pairing will have much better pics (and I'd love to see some here) but here are some more PL100-400 stills, all with EM1ii.

Nice work Ian,I would love the EM1MK11 but its a no go for me,just changed my GX8 for the G80 due to handling problems with the GX8 and i must admit ime getting on better with the G80.

You will be able to test the CAF on Swallows at the sluice 3:)

Don't want to hijack the thread but got this over the boating lake with the G80 and 100-400

I try to explain to new users BIF is not the same as it is with optical viewfinders especially if the bird is moving quickly,in the DSLR days you used to look for a 100% sharp image in the viewfinder, with mirrorless i look for that first sign of a sharp image and start taking,i call it using the force ;)

The 100-400 works fine for me on the EM1ii with lens OIS on (which automatically turns off the camera's IBIS). I wonder how much, if any, real difference the synced lens and camera IS available with the GH5 makes. There seems to be a strange dearth of GH5 stills on this and other M43 forums. Anyone with any to share?
Here are some more with EM1ii -

I sometimes use mine with the EM10MK11 and find the lens OIS stabilising is just as good as the G80 dual when you get zoomed out to over 250/300mm,cant explain it though.
Unfortunately, i cant test it on the G80 as there is no way to go OIS only on it.

A few from today

Day out birding yesterday, after a too-long period of office work, writing-up my winter survey fieldwork. Out to RSPB Tetney Marshes area. No sign of the hoped-for dotterels on their traditional spring passage fields as yet, but whist walking the seabank and scoping adjacent fields, failing to find those special birds, a few locals were obliging. All with OlyEM1ii/PL100-400.

Nice shots all. The high ISO in NM's last post look surprisingly good; Ian's Garganey really "pops."

I took my EM-1 ii, PL 100-400, and Oly 300mm + 1.4x extender on a recent trip to the Dominican Republic. It was my first real work with the camera, so still learning it. But I have a hard time noticing any real difference between my shots with each lens--which surprised me. Both seemed to give good, and sharp results. (Was also impressed with my high ISO results). Flickr gallery of these here (the wide angle shots are with a Nikon compact):

I think in good light it could be difficult to tell the difference but the 300mm should come into its own when the light quality falls.
The high ISO shots where at close range they would not stand cropping but then the G80 is not an expensive camera so not bad i dont think.
