Sparrow nest building (1 Viewer)

Hi

Have put a nest box with a camera up first time and currently have a pair of sparrows nest building in it. We put it up last spring but didnt have any takers. However we had a female sparrow using it all through autumn and winter for sleeping. As it was empty we felt sorry for her shivering away all night so put some fresh hay in the box which she arranged to her liking and kept nice and warm.

Now she and her partner have spent the last 5 days bringing in bits if grass and feathers and arranging stuff but they dont seem to be making any progress!. The floor us still bare and they both just seem to move stuff around making no difference! Today they have both just visited occasionally and faffed about. Is this normal behaviour?

The female is still bedding down in it every night. Do you think she will lay eggs as we have no experience of this?
