Zeiss FL small eyecups vs large eyecups

I have the 40 mm eyecups. I would like them smaller. Anyone interested in trading smaller eyecups for larger cups?

The smaller eye cups are far better. I contacted Zeiss about replacements and they requested that i send my old ones in to them and they would then send out the new ones. This they did, all free of charge. Why not give them a try.

I just called and they are sending me the new, smaller version.

I have not been able to find a picture of the new vs. old eye cups. I currently have the 40mm sharp-edged version. Can anyone tell me what to expect when I receive the new version? Do they resemble the Leica or Swaro cups, with a rounded, softer edge? Do people see a real difference?

Thanks,

Steffan

I thought the newer eyecupes were larger -- no? I have a very early 8x42 FL, and the eyecups are smaller than the diameter of the main housing. I can't think of any reason to change them.
