Queen of Spain Fritillary breeds in Sussex (1 Viewer)

Tri-Counties Birder

AKA The Portland Naturalist
Butterfly Conservation has just announced that a tiny breeding colony of Queen of Spain Fritillaries has been discovered on the Sussex coast.

A female was first spotted at the site, and then later a mating pair were found.

Apparently there was a colony in Suffolk in the recent past, what are the details of this?

Great news, but due to global warming?

Sean
