Hello,

I saw this bird of prey today in a beech forest, in Romania. Can somebody help me in identifying it? Is it a honey buzzard? The photo is a big crop. Thank you very much in advance,

Istvan

Yes, it is at its nest, above a forest road, on the top of a beech tree. The place is a very protected one and it is hardly visible from the road. Past year also nested in the same place. I saw it more times in farther places of the forest and I almost was sure that it is a Honey buzzard, but this was the first time when I was able to take a photo. And seeing its greyish colour confused me and had to ask for a confirmation.
