Below is a post from a fellow Carolinabirds Listserv member and Hummingbird bander, Susan Campbell. Posted with Susan's permission. I guess that's why they are known as the "jeweled warriors" ;)

"I found out last night that the banded Rufous I caught Saturday in New
Bern, NC at a residence was originally banded in Ft. Atkinson, WI
on October 19th! Given that she arrived here about Nov. 15th, having left the banding spot on the 23rd, she must have covered over 1000 miles in about three weeks. Certainly THE highlight of the 2014-15 winter season-- doubt I can top that in the next few months! Images of this beauty will be posted on the Carolina Bird Club web site very shortly, for anyone interested."
