Sounds like a nose flute? (1 Viewer)

Please help me identify a bird (unseen) which made a single note call reminiscent of a nose flute....sort of a hollow sound.
Heardin garden in NE England, 4 miles from coast. Garden backs onto rough grass (disused field). We have scots pine, mature hawthorns, rowans and pond.
I know there are bird songs on the RSPB site and in the resources section here, but can anyone suggest anywhere to start?

Thanks...definitely not a bullfinch or golden plover. I think it's probably a brambling. We have some in the garden at the moment and the birdforum recorded song has 2 types of song. One sounds like wot I heard!
