Texas Gar...San Angelo SP North Unit (1 Viewer)

I believe it's a Longnose gar.

Came across it while walking the bank of the North Concho River in San Angelo State Park North Unit. I heard him before I seen him. I was eyeing the bank when a loud splash caught my attention. When I turned my head I saw him on the surface with what appeared to be a small bass in the tip of it's nose/mouth.

I'd say the fish was about 4 feet long.

Never saw one before, I thought it was interesting.

I've never seen one in person, but looks like the photos on the web.
