One book to cover Calgary to Vancouver? (1 Viewer)

I am hopefully going to Canada in early September for a trip from Calgary to Vancouver via Banff and Jasper. Its not a bird holiday but should get some time anyway but is there one book to cover this?

I see the Sibley and National Geo books seem to be rated but does the Sibley one cover the rockies area or west of rockies?

Any other suggestions appreciated.
Cheers

Sibley would cover it. If you can get the Western Sibley - even better. We stayed in Calgary for a while a few summers ago and did a trip south to the American border then up through the mountains to Jasper and back. Spectacular scenery, birds a bit few and far between, but lovely none-the-less.

Did you know that Calgary only gets 100 frost-free days a year!!

Aye, Sibley's will do but I also recommend Kaufman's Field Guide to Birds of North America mainly because of the fact I prefer photos over paintings. The format of having the succinct blurbs and maps on the left and the photos on the right suits me fine. The book is also not overly bulky which is a bonus. I have stacks of field guides and this is the clear winner when I'm in the field.

Frost, eh? Well, I live in the Rockies and we can have frost right until the end of June and then it can start again in late August. . .my veggie plot is a rushed affair to say the least. I shan't mention the threat of snow at any given time either. ;)
