Kelp Gull Vs Skua (1 Viewer)

anyone have anything more to add about kelp gulls and brown skuas? very diff relationship to the herring gull or LBB gulls and great skuas of the north

which is strange!

after reading more information on brown skuas i learn more

okay looks like skuas on the falklands are in decline while northern skuas are increasing population.

Falkland skuas seem to team up with small and large gull species like kelp and dolphin gulls to mob serious gull and skua predators competitors johnny rooks/caracara and giant petrels etc..

Gulls are probably looked at as important alllies down south while north are nothing but prey.

Saw 2 dolphin gulls 1 brown skua mob the hell out of the a johnny rook the skua did most of the brutish work but it seem like the gulls really needed that skua because johnny rook will plunder through their colony like a feathered weasel. Also the gulls must serve as a great desecration and help for skuas to give good blows in to make their message clear and to get a johnny rook or giant petrel out of their territory. Life in the south is very difficult!
