kelp gull Portugal (1 Viewer)

When I was watching the kelp gull in Olhao Portugal 2 weeks ago I realised I had seen a dark backed gull on exactly the same location several years earlier.

Back home I checked my records and it was August 20 2009.
The leg colour of that bird didn't seem to fit very well for a large black backed gull as it waas having a greenish tinge but as i was new to birding i didn't give it much attention.

Is this indeed a GBBG or did a/the Kelp gull visit this site already earlier?
This is the only photo I have.

Best regards,
Geert

That's what I suspected already.
Obviously I would have been more happy If I had noticed this 7 years ago.
Now it's a bit of mixed feelings.
Anyway glad I remembered it.

Do I need to report this bird somewhere to a Portuguesre rarity committee?

Best regards,

Geert
