Just wanted to say hello from Maine. This looks to be a great forum. I'm just a backyard birder looking to learn alot from reading all the posts from you folks.

Backyard birder here too. And since you were kind enough to welcome me, I'll return the favour. Welcome.

BTW, I'm up past Bangor; where are you?

Hi to the guys in Maine,
I was only reminising on my only trip across the pond in another thread a couple of minutes ago. The weekend was spent in a cabin at Rangely lake (?) Had a fantastic time as the owner kept binoculars and a bird book to hand. 4 birds will stick with me, White throated sparrow, (amazing call i think) Loons (another atmospheric call across a misty lake) Yellow bellied sap sucker (just because of the name ;o)) and what i think was a Pileated woodpecker, (i thought the sound of this bird hammering was someone having problems with an out board motor) Anyway, welcome to the forum.
