Northern Utah - Perching Feeding bird. (1 Viewer)

So a bird came to my feeder the other day. At first I though it was just a female House finch, but upon closer inspecion it had a red beak.
Anyone know what it might be? Sorry I have no picture.

So you are saying it was brown and streaky with a red bill. Sometimes birds stick their bill into red stuff or eat berries.

How red was the beak, like pale red or cardinal red?

I've been searching and cannot find anything that fits? I'll keep looking though!

I'm stumped! The only thing I could find close is this Juvenile Java Sparrow, but it would have been an escape and Sibley's says escapees mainly occur in Florida! Plus the bill isn't as red as you said it seemed. I don't know.

Beats me?! :-C

Good Luck,
Matt
