Titterstone Clee (1 Viewer)

Wonderful sunny spring day on the summit .

On the way in, 2 Red Kite over Clee Hill , pair of Stonechat ,numerous Meadow Pipit.

On Titterstone , 1 Ring Ouzel, several Wheatear , Raven , Stonechat on the road up, Meadow Pipits , Buzzards over .

All in all a great day out

As the weather forecast was for good weather we decided to have a trip over to Titterstone Clee Hill and it was worth it! Driving up to the summit we had Common Buzzard, Red Kite and a Male Stonechat. After we had parked up overlooking the old quarry workings the first bird we saw was a Black Redstart! It was very mobile on the scree slopes and the workings but it did stop long enough to eat a grub and I managed a record photograph - see below. Other notable sightings from the summit included M&F Stonechat, large groups of Meadow Pipit, at least 4 Raven and 2 Red Kites high over the summit. After lunch we had a walk to the Trig Point via the radar station path and we were treated to excellent views of 4 Red Kites hunting low over the sheep field to the north of the Trig Point, birds also seen in this area included Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Raven - it isn't often that you are actually higher up than Red Kites and Raven - it gave us brilliant views! A superb day in superb weather!!

1 Black Redstart still this afternoon although 2 had been reported in the last few days also 7 Stonechat around in the cold misty conditions.
