Quote - "A female Sympecma fusca (Winter Emerald Damselfly) was photographed and released at Tonna today, after being picked up a week ago. Thanks to Mike Powell and Steve Coker (who I believe made the original id) for info on what may be only the 2nd record record for this species in the UK! Whilst the origins of this specimen are unknown and importation is a possibility, I guess it's not impossible that a colony exists on the nearby canal and efforts will be made to search the area next season, but worth keeping an eye open for this species elsewhere."

Possibly another species to look out for next year.

Cheers

Martyn
