Hi Folks.
Totally new on here so please be kind.
Took this (poor) picture of a chick on some logs in SW France 1 hour south of Carcassonne. No idea what it is.
Played dead (froze) to allow me this close to take pic with iPhone.
Chick was 5-6" long.
Wondered re cuckoo - lots around or even heron - river within 50 metres.
